Face to face, Workshops and Online – The Henley Careers Service

Just 2 more working days ’til Welcome Week – of course we’ve already welcomed our new full time MBA students, but Welcome Week is when the vast majority of new full time Henley Business School students start, and then a week later we welcome back the 2nd & final year undergraduates – so for the careers team it’s all go.

We’ve had a really busy summer preparing for the new year – during the Autumn term the team will be delivering 4 lunchtime workshops per week, plus additional workshops for most of the departments, plus teaching careers modules, so we’ve been researching, developing and writing furiously so that we have plenty of time free during term to see students face-to face.

We know that students don’t just want careers support during office hours though, that’s why we’ve been improving our online resource – the Henley Careers Blackboard Organisation.  All 120+ pages have been looked at over the summer – some are brand new, others reviewed and updated, meaning that we have the best online careers resource we’ve ever had ready for the new academic year.

And on top of all the resources provided by the careers consultants, Luisa the Employer Relations Manager has been putting together a suite of Employer visits.  They fall into 2 main types:
1 – Employer Panels every Monday evening, where professionals from a particular function or sector talk about, and take questions on, their experiences;
2- Recruitment Talks delivered by an organisation looking to both promote their opportunities and meet interested students.

The Henley Careers Team (Naeema, Maddy, Anita, Luisa, Jane, Harriet, Martyn, Stephanie, Paul & Graham) will all be around, so if you are in the Business School or ICMA Centre do come and say hello.
