In this week’s podcast hosted by Will Peshall, we were joined by Jen Cronin, University Talent Staffing Partner EMEA at VMware.
Jen and Matt discuss how VMware has adjusted it’s recruitment during lockdown, with interesting insights into how they are running their virtual assessment centres and some tips for students looking for internships at the moment, as well as tips for those starting work for the first time in a virtual environment.
As usual, Matt also gives an update into the UK labour market, with some shocking stats about graduate jobs and internships.
And let’s leave with one of Matt’s comments, courtesy of Stephen Isherwood, the CEO of the Institute of Student Employers.
If you’re looking for for a job right now, please don’t assume the jobs market is completely dead. Many employers are still recruiting and history tells us that we will see unfilled vacancies in a downturn. The jobs market will recover. So stay engaged to make the most of it when that does happen!
