The Henley Professional Development Certificate (HenPDC for short) is a framework which enables you to collect credits for worthwhile and appropriate learning and development activities that you undertake over the summer. It provides you with the means to develop, prioritise and organise your thoughts and to reflect on how the challenges you face in these unprecedented times are adding to your employability, sense of direction and personal growth.
What you do, learn and plan this summer can all earn you credits towards the certificate.
Who’s it for?
All Henley Business School and ICMA Centre students who are due to graduate in 2020.
Choose your specialisms
There are four specialisms on offer to you. All are equally worthwhile and to ensure that you build yourself a balanced programme of activities, you need to choose activities from at least three of the four specialisms. Beyond that, there are very few restrictions.
Find out more about each specialism, and what activities you can to for them:
Our Career Consultants are on hand to help you design your personal schedule of activities – just book a consultation using My Jobs Online. Equally you can do this yourself, with a mentor or with a group of friends – whatever works best for you!
Use the programme workbook and log to record each activity. Once you’ve amassed 100 credits, submit them to us. Then, to finish the programme, all you need to do is pull everything together into one document – either a reflective essay, a career action plan, or a skills-based CV. Find out more about this by reading the Writing Your Reflective Document Guide. Again, help will be on hand from the Career Consultants whenever you need it.
Once that final document is submitted you’ll be awarded the Henley Professional Development Certificate to celebrate that you have completed the programme!
